Dear Members and Friends of Coastal Delmarva VOTF:

Please join us on Wednesday, November 15 at 7 p.m. at the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach. This will be a critical meeting as we launch into the next phase of our campaign for legislative accountability. Each of you will  be invited to help according to your interests, and your participation is essential to the success of our efforts!
Our agenda will also include:

(1) A briefing on the upbcoming Region 4 gathering and a chance to give your input to the affiliate report your representatives will be taking to that meeting.

(2) Planning for our second annual "Some of the Faithful" December Social

As you can see, we  have much to accomplish and we can't do it without you. Please come!

Finally, I'm including a link to an excellent editorial by Tom Roberts from the November 10  issue of the National Catholic Reporter. In it he speaks of the kind of truth telling that is necessary to heal the wounds of our church.

With fiercest hope,

Skip Sullivan

Dear Friends of Coastal Delmarva VOTF:

As you may know by now, the Diocese of Wilmington has released the names of priests accused of sexual abuse. The list appeared in yesterday's Dialog (
www.cdow.org).

This morning's News Journal has extensive coverage of this beginning on the front page. The links below will take you to each of the related articles. I am also attaching them as Word documents should you prefer to download them.

VOTF commends Bishop Saltarelli for his action on behalf of victims. It is a significant step forward in the struggle for healing and justice for them and the church in our diocese. Now he should ensure that the religious orders follow suit and release the names of the predators they are shielding.

I encourage you to take the time to write to The Dialog and The News Journal to express your opinion on this matter.

With fiercest hope,
Skip Sullivan

At last night's VOTF meeting John D'Albora asked if we could archive on our web site the Wilmington News Journal's recent coverage of
Fr. Francis DeLuca. I'm including the link to those articles here, as well as the page from bishop accountability.org that deals with the Wilmington diocese and abusive priests.

Dear Friends of Coastal Delmarva VOTF:

I would like to share with you an article that appeared in the Oct. 26 issue of The Dialog, which features our affiliate's initiative in establishing the new Ocean Deanery Lay Council. I'm providing it both as an e-link and as an attachment for your convenience.

Congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard to make this a reality!
