I have been a homeowner and summer resident here since 1991. Previous to that I was a frequent visitor/vacationer over the thirty some-odd years that I lived and taught elementary school in the Washington, DC area. 

Also during those years, I was a single parent raising three children that became mine upon the untimely death of my sister and brother-in-law. We all, including their spouses and two wonderful grandchildren, continue to enjoy times together here in Bethany now that I am retired and have been a full-time resident since 2000. 

For ten years I was the business owner of Wholesome Habits Health Food store on Route 1.  During the Bethany Beach Centennial Year 2001-2002, I was actively involved, serving as chairperson of two of the committees. These experiences along with my many years as an educator have provided me ample opportunities for listening to the concerns and needs of others as well as in developing decision-making skills.      

During the four years I have been on our Town Council I have served as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice-Mayor and Mayor.
