The Bethany Beach Nature Center and Conservation Area
located on the north side of Route 26 approximately 1/2 mile west of the beach.
Includes trails, swamp bridges, an interactive center and a kiddie park.
The center is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on
Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m.
The Bethany Beach Museum
located in the
foyer of Town Hall at the intersection of
Garfield Parkway and Route 1.
The exhibits contain memorabilia and photographs from the Bethany Beach

The Anna
Hazzard Museum, in
Rehoboth Beach, presents artifacts, history and photographs from the Rehoboth
Beach area. Open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm through
October and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 am until 2 pm from

The Cannonball
House Museum located at the
intersection of Front and Banks Streets in Lewes. Tours are provided on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 am. The tour begins at the
Historical Complex located at Park and 4th Street. Admission is a $ .50
donation.

Discoveries From the Sea Museum
located on the second floor of Sea Shell City at 708 Ocean
Highway and Bayard Street in Fenwick Island, DE. This collection
of maritime artifacts including silver and gold
was gathered over the years from both local
and international shipwrecks. No admission fee is charged, but
donations are accepted. This is one of the most outstanding family activities available in Southern Delaware.

The Fenwick Island Lighthouse,
built in 1858, is located 8 miles south of Bethany on Route 54
just a block west of Route 1. The 87' tall lighthouse, which
continues to work today, is open to visitors at scheduled times
during the summer. Admission is free.

The Indian River Lifesaving Station, originally constructed in 1879, is located on
Route 1 a few miles north of Bethany Beach. Visit and learn about the
organization that later turned into the US Coast Guard. An interpreter is
available on weekends.

The James Farm located about five miles
from town on Cedar Neck Road in Ocean View, DE is a nature preserve that lies

Loop Canal Centennial Park located at
N. Pennsylvania Avenue and First Street. Check the historical marker and
discover how the first visitors to Bethany Beach typically traveled to town.
The Nanticoke
Indian Museum just east of Millsboro shows exhibits, which reveal life among Delaware's first
inhabitants. In September, a Powwow provides Indian crafts, dancing and

Prince George's Chapel is a restored
mid-18th century Anglican church located on Route 26 in Dagsboro, DE.
It is open on Sundays from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. from June
through October.

The Treasures
of the Sea Exhibit in the Library building of Delaware Tech, Route 18,
just west of Georgetown has gold, jewels, pottery, silver and other interesting artifacts
found at the Florida Keys 1622 shipwreck site of Nuestra Senora de Atocha.

The
Zwaanendael Museum in
Lewes (Delaware's oldest town settled as a whaling colony in 1631) commemorates the first European settlement in Delaware. A lot of
local history is presented including artifacts from the 1798 shipwreck of HMS
DeBraak. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm and
Sunday from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Free.
